Welcome to my website.
My name is Edna Sade, an artist working primarily in a minimalist and abstract style using a variety of oil and acrylic techniques. For me, a painting begins long before the brush touches the surface—it starts with the substrate itself, as there is a profound conceptual connection between the material I paint on and the themes of my work. My paintings breathe differently on every material: the classic, stable canvas often serves as the foundation for my exploration of urban spaces, while plywood, with its brown tones and rhythmic grains, acts as a fascinating intermediate medium that allows for layered, almost three-dimensional effects that capture the essence of city and nature simultaneously. When I work on delicate white paper, I connect with the fleeting and ephemeral qualities of nature, pouring in fine details that dialogue with natural content. Ultimately, each piece represents the relationship between the urban and the natural, inviting you to reflect with me on daily life in our current era.
