"Between Nature and Urbanity | The Breathing Space"

In the words of artist Edna Sade: "The space between nature  and the city is where I live, breathe, and create. For me, the city  represents rhythm, home, noise, and communication; while  nature provides the flow, the breath, and the space that allows  intuition and silence to exist."

In this exhibition, boundaries blur. The city seeks a piece of  earth, while nature seeks a place to float within it. This is the  encounter between the grey block and the green fragment,  between the dense urban scene and the open expanse. In  these abstract works, the city does not stand in opposition to  nature but serves as a direct extension of it. It is an emotional  and mental realm where, amidst the visual density, Sadeh’s  underlying need to touch the earth emerges. Nature seeps into  the concrete, and the city melts into the open air. These are the  traces of street, hints of treetops, water, and soil—remaining as  a vivid memory etched onto the surface.

Throughout the exhibition, Sadeh emphasizes the dissolving  boundaries between matter and spirit. Through acrylic works on  canvas and striking abstract prints, she gives form to the  intersection of the industrial and the organic. The paintings  move along an axis of contrasts: from intense, bursting colors  representing urban vitality and clamor, to quiet monochromatic that distills the breath and moments of stillness found in nature.

While Sadeh’s sensations stem from her subjective world, they  resonate powerfully with our collective experience today. In light  of the complex situation in Israel, the search for a stable piece  of earth, a place to float and a space to breathe evolves from a  personal quest into a collective necessity for a society seeking  healing within the chaos.
